Supreme Court Notifies New Subject-Category Roster of Work Effective July 13, 2026: Complete Bench Allocation Guide

Overview & Effective Date Under the orders of Hon’ble the Chief Justice of India, the Supreme Court of India has issued a comprehensive new Roster of Work for Fresh Cases as per New Case Categories (Individual Subject Category), effective from 13th July, 2026.

This roster systematically assigns fresh matters across specialized subject categories and sub-category codes to individual Hon'ble Judges, while establishing dedicated Division Benches on non-miscellaneous days to expedite the disposal of long-pending civil and criminal cases.

Key Rule: The new roster assigns subject categories systematically across benches, ensuring subject-matter specialization and establishing dedicated benches for disposal of the oldest pending matters on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
